World Toilet Day is held on November 19 each year. It is a day to raise awareness about the 2.5 billion people in the world who do not have access to clean safe sanitation.

First established by the World Toilet Organization in 2001, the United Nations officially recognised World Toilet Day in 2003.

There is no toilet humor in this day. It is estimated there are nearly 1000 child deaths a day related to unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene.
